From the Editor's desk

Welcome to the sixth issue of Ghudsavar!

A poem can be written in simple words and phrases or with complex, sophisticated vocabulary and syntax: none of them is superior over the other in of itself. It is whether they are able to convey sincerely the writer's inner vision where the test lies: an arrogant roar of laughter should certainly sound different on the pages than a meek whimper of a laugh, but can the writer even convey the fine distinction between a disdainful sneer and a contemptuous derision?

The biggest challenge for any artist, be it a poet, painter, musician or actor, is to communicate their vision in a way that, to use words from the world of power distribution, minimizes the transmission loss—the artist's biggest rival is themselves, their competition is with themselves. Of course, the audience will put their own interpretations on it: this, after all, is an essential part of the beauty of art.

I hope that the works in this issue will appeal to readers, as much for the sincerity of their creators as for the plurality of interpretations.

Happy reading!
