Ironing the enamel

I rinsed the ceiling

and dried the morning

ate a cold handful of yesterday

before it could escape

after you

I stained my thinking

past purple

rolled my fingers

in the blue dye

and renamed it summer

after you

I picked the sky into a colander

watched thirty-two small dark planets

drain into a bowl

one

by one

I ironed my teeth

and brushed my shirt

walked into the rest of the day

tasting indigo

and small sweet certainties

after you blueberries
